Mass Effect 4 May Not Be as Far Along as We Thought.

We might have to wait a while for this.

We might have to wait a while for this.

This news may come as shocking to some, but Mass Effect 4 might actually still be in early development. The Bioware Montreal director, Yanick Roy, says they haven’t even settled on a name yet.

It might be disappointing for some to hear, because many were expecting the game to be unveiled at E3 this year. It looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer to engage in new adventures in the Mass Effect universe.

I hope to return to this universe one day.

As for the details so far, Roy was intentionally vague, but he did state that there is not a cannon ending to Mass Effect 3. To paraphrase his response, the game doesn’t have to be a direct sequel. It could easily be a prequel, or a side story. The director even said it doesn’t necessarily have to include appearances from familiar characters.

There was a rumor that the new Mass Effect would be called Mass Effect: Contact, and take place during the First Contact War, but, the name aside, there is no confirmation as to when the new game will take place, or what the premise will be.

Are you disappointed to hear that Mass Effect 4(working title), is not as far along as many were hoping? Leave your comments below.

No one should give a shit about this series anymore. Bioware has shown consistently that it cannot deliver the quality content that it was known for and if that cunt Casey is anywhere near the story, it is going to be diet coke oatmeal bonanza on a shit sundae. Fuck him and fuck all yall niggas

Josh, your opinion sounds like it derives from the many of the rabid, irrational and zealotic Bioware fanboys who’re the type who love to hate Bioware. Or, the Hate-love relationship.

Bioware did, what wrong? Dragon Age 2 being crap and Mass Effect 3’s Ending? That’s all? You’re saying ‘Bioware has shown consistently’ that they cannot deliver? With what claims? You don’t even mention directly why. All I know is people moaned about DA2 and ME3’s ending. Though being that I played ME1,2,3 I can say that the entirety of ME3 was a GREAT and memorable game up JUST until the ending.

It’s rabid fanboys and delusional hate-wagoners like yourself that give gamers a bad name in the industry.

It’s not like it’s going to be any good anyways. 4 bad releases in a row, and they show no signs of wanting to change, what’s everyone excited about?

I’m a fairly big fan of the original trilogy, original endings aside, so I’m at least willing to give Bioware a chance with this latest Mass Effect, though I do think it’s a bit of a cash-in, on the popularity of earlier entries. To be honest, I’m actually looking forward more to Bioware’s unannounced new IP that they’re supposedly working on. It’s definitely overshadowed by the upcoming Mass Effect, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be any good. For all we know, it could be the better game.

This is pathetic gaming journalism at its finest. Let’s conjure up rumours based on the fact the game has no name as of yet.
